Join us for a special screening of La Hembrita (2023), a compelling drama from the Dominican Republic that explores family, class, motherhood, belonging, and the complicated relationships that shape our lives.

The film follows Dominique, a woman experiencing an empty nest, whose life changes when her domestic worker unexpectedly disappears, leaving behind her seven-year-old granddaughter. As Dominique takes the child into her care, she is forced to confront questions of family, privilege, responsibility, and what it truly means to belong. Directed and written by Laura Amelia Guzmán.
